Role:
We are reshaping the process of buying insurance. Your role will be instrumental in developing Ownwell's insurance offering and identifying the appropriate coverage for Ownwell's clients. As an insurance agent, you will be responsible for selling insurance policies to customers, and cultivating lasting relationships.
You should be a self-starter, looking for a challenge, and excited to get your hands dirty. You should have extensive knowledge of available insurance products, a passion for sales, and excellent interpersonal skills. A top-notch insurance producer creates lasting and trusting relationships with clients by finding them the best product for their needs. At the same time, you'll be working with Ownwell's sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams to develop software, tooling, and marketing initiatives to provide more value to Ownwell customers across the country.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and bind new business with carriers
  • Meet with potential clients to discuss their insurance needs and research available policy options for the client.
  • Present and explain policy details to the clients
  • Advising clients on risk management
  • Advising clients on when and how to file a claim on their policy.
  • Advise Ownwell product and engineering team on software development and automation opportunities.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide support to Ownwell clients
  • Retain customers year-over-year

Requirements:
  • Must hold a Texas Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • 1-3 years + of sales experience in an insurance brokerage with a proven track record of sales success.
  • Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance, marketplace, products, and services, developing productive business relationships with key insurance carriers.
  • Personable, highly motivated, and goal oriented. Driven to achieve individual sales goals.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating multiple systems and quoting platforms
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Nice to have: experience selling commercial insurance
  • Experience with rater platforms like EZLynx or HawkSoft, various insurance carrier's portals, GSuite and CRMs such as AgencyZoom or Salesforce is a plus
  • Nice to have: experience selling commercial insurance
