About the Job
Summary of Position:
Are you a compassionate leader who excels at creating exceptional patient experiences while keeping complex office operations running smoothly? MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an experienced Office Supervisor to lead the administrative operations of our Inpatient Psychology Department.
In this highly visible role, you will serve as the operational backbone of the clinic-overseeing patient access, scheduling, insurance verification, registration, revenue cycle activities, and administrative team performance. You'll partner closely with clinical and operational leadership to ensure patients receive outstanding service from their very first interaction with our practice.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day administrative operations of the Psychiatry practice, ensuring efficient patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and referral management.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop administrative staff while fostering a positive, patient-centered team culture.
  • Monitor patient access, customer service, and revenue cycle activities, including authorizations, co-payment collection, and administrative reporting.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leadership to improve workflows, resolve issues, and support practice performance goals.
  • Oversee payroll, timekeeping, and key administrative processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, providers, and referring practices to support exceptional service and practice growth.

Minimal Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required. (Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred)
  • 1+ years' Experience with managing and coordinating administrative staff is required.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with scheduling systems, electronic medical records, and office technology.
