Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory marketing strategy that strengthens agency relationships and grows a profitable book of Inland Marine business.
  • Serve as a trusted underwriting partner for agents and brokers by providing responsive service, technical expertise, and creative underwriting solutions within company guidelines.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends impacting profitability, rate adequacy, and risk selection.
  • Maintain complete underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and authority levels.

Education & Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, risk management, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience, including 3+ years of Inland Marine underwriting experience.
  • Experience underwriting construction-related Inland Marine products such as Builder's Risk, Installation Floaters, Contractor's Equipment, or related specialized property risks preferred.
  • Experience developing agency relationships and managing a profitable book of business.
