Purpose
The Training Manager serves as a key instructional leader within STIHL's Commercial Learning and Development team, responsible for delivering impactful training experiences that sharpen our teams' capabilities and deepen their connection to the STIHL brand. This role focuses on live instruction, coaching, and facilitation across STIHL's sales channels and product categories - ensuring that commercial employees, dealers, and partners gain not just product knowledge, but also the skills to represent our legacy of innovation and quality.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for STIHL commercial teams, dealers, and channel partners
  • Deliver engaging, brand-aligned instruction on product knowledge, sales strategies, and customer engagement
  • Partner with instructional designers to enhance existing training programs based on real-time learner feedback
  • Coach field reps and trainers to elevate facilitation techniques and improve learning outcomes
  • Assess learner performance and gather qualitative feedback to identify improvement opportunities
  • Represent STIHL values and culture in every learning interaction - modeling professionalism, integrity, and a passion for craftsmanship
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communication, Business, or related field
  • Professional training certifications (e.g., ATD Master Trainer, CPTM) strongly preferred
  • 5+ years in a training, facilitation, or coaching role in commercial, retail, or technical industries
  • Experience training on products or systems with hands-on components
  • Familiarity with STIHL's product categories or dealer networks
  • Proven success in delivering high-impact instruction to adult learners
  • Up to 25% travel by air
  • Strong facilitation and public speaking skills for technical and commercial audiences
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and classroom technologies
  • Ability to adapt instructional techniques to suit diverse learner needs
  • Basic proficiency with training software (PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Highly relational, strong interpersonal and coaching abilities
  • Confident, energetic presence
