Sales Assistant (Entry-Level) Location: Bloomingdale, IL Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8-hour shift Pay: $50,000 annually ($24.04/hour) + overtime when necessary Position Type: Full-Time

Your Role as a Sales Assistant:

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Sales Assistant supports daily sales operations to improve the efficiency of Big Bolt's and Mega Metric's order management processes. This role focuses heavily on order entry, documentation, internal coordination, and customer communication, while providing exposure to sales operations, purchasing, and manufacturing workflows.

Successful performance in this role opens a clear path for advancement within the Sales Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Management & Processing

  • Enter sales orders into the Dplus database with direction from Sales team members

  • Process purchase orders to transfer manufacturing orders into NetSuite

  • Prepare and maintain sales orders, including routing steps and material components

  • Process transactions between Dplus and NetSuite to support shipping documentation

Purchasing & Vendor Support

  • Prepare purchase order requisitions using quotes and prior orders

  • Follow up with outside service departments to ensure timely product delivery

  • Monitor material receipts and resolve discrepancies related to multiple heats or partial deliveries

Customer & Internal Communication

  • Follow up with customers on open sales orders and provide order status updates

  • Expedite partial or full shipments as needed

  • Manage communications through customer portals

  • Maintain coordination between Sales, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Shipping

Issue Resolution & Process Improvement

  • Investigate and resolve order issues related to inventory discrepancies, shortages, or operational errors

  • Assist in resolving NetSuite material issues that prevent quotes or orders from processing

  • Review credit requests with the Sales Manager and submit to Accounting

  • Track RMAs and rework orders

  • Recommend and assist with sales process improvements

  • Scan and distribute required documentation

  • Prior experience in the fastener or manufacturing industry is a plus, but not required

  • Strong eagerness to learn the business and industry
