Overview

The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Risk Manager.  The Risk Manager is responsible for managing the organization's corporate insurance program and supporting enterprise risk mitigation efforts. This role analyzes risk exposures, coordinates insurance renewals, manages claims, and ensures compliance with corporate insurance policies. The Risk Manager collaborates across departments to assess and reduce risk, maintain insurance coverage, and support strategic initiatives including acquisitions and project bonding.

Work Location and Schedule

This position is primarily based in Sugar Land, TX (Houston metropolitan area).

What You'll Do
  • Analyze corporate insurance policies and programs to assess risk exposure and coverage adequacy.
  • Manage insurance renewals, including data collection, application preparation, and underwriting submissions.
  • Monitor receipt and accuracy of insurance binders, policies, and endorsements.
  • Maintain insurance records and ensure safekeeping of original policy documents.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to internal inquiries regarding insurance programs and premium allocations.
  • Manage insurance claims in partnership with third-party administrators and business units, including eligibility review, tracking, and timely closure.
  • Prepare reports and analysis for underwriting, budgeting, and claim management.
  • Secure project-related bonds as needed.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and business units to ensure insurance compliance and support risk mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in due diligence reviews for acquisitions and oversee insurance integration of newly acquired assets into Nexus' insurance program.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market risk initiatives.
  • Represent the company in insurance industry and professional associations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety legislation, industry practices, and market requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Strong understanding of insurance principles, risk assessment, and claims processes.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate insurance, risk management, claims administration, or related field.
  • ARM, CPCU, or other relevant insurance certifications preferred.
