Information Systems Manager

(Exempt/Non-Bargaining Unit Position)

LOCATION:

Redding

Full Time (39 hours per week) 

SALARY & BENEFITS:

$113,507.16 – $147,557.28 annually ($55.97 - $72.76 per hour).  Complete package of fringe benefits including Vacation and Sick Leave, Health Insurance, 17 paid Holidays, and CalPERS Retirement. Travel allowance for field work.

JOB SYNOPSIS & QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

The Manager of Information Systems leads day-to-day IT operations for Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC), with particular emphasis on end-user support, staff training, and the reliability of FNRC's network and infrastructure across all office locations. This is a hands-on role requiring direct involvement in technical operations, end-user support, and incident response across all FNRC locations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager supervises the IT support team, is responsible for management of the help desk and endpoint operations, and partners with the Director on security, vendors, budget, and strategic projects. The Manager provides direct support on tickets when needed, and is available for on-call response to critical outages and system emergencies. The Manager coordinates with the Manager of Facilities on matters that involve both technology systems and physical infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing FNRC’s network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, wireless, firewalls, VPN) and telephone systems across all office locations; coordinate patching, maintenance windows, and planned outages, administers servers and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365 / Azure, on-premises servers, backup systems) in coordination with the Director. Carries out day-to-day security operations, including monitoring alerts, applying patches, reviewing access, and supporting audits. Additionally, the Manager of Information Systems is responsible for network connectivity and software administration for physical security systems, copiers and A/V equipment. Supervises assigned IT staff, including help desk and infrastructure technicians.

Requires Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. Minimum five (5) years of progressive IT experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.

Certifications Preferred:

·        A security credential such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or comparable.

·        Microsoft, CompTIA Network+, or other vendor administration certifications.

·        ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management credential.
