Project Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Manages underground water and sewer pipe installation for individual projects
  • Profit and loss responsibility for projects and company.
  • Manages employees, heavy equipment, subcontractors, and materials on projects.
  • Plans a safe project site and implements work activities in a safe way, every day.
  • Creates production estimates.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Very familiar with computer use including email, spreadsheets, and other programs.
  • Builds a productive team by positive attitude and leading by example.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Daily travel to jobsite(s) may be required
  • Working outdoors in hot, cold, inclement climates.
  • 50+ hours or more per week is typical.
  • Some jobs may require excessive hours for a short duration.

We are a mid-sized local underground contractor. We have an excellent reputation for service and performance built over several decades. We self-perform underground construction for numerous general contractors in the State of Arizona. We specialize in underground wet utilities, including Sewer, Water, Fire lines, and Storm Drains. Each year we perform hundreds of commercial underground jobs ranging from $10,000 to $2 million dollars. Our average project size is $75,000-$300,000.

Project Manager Requirements

  • 3 years underground experience
  • 3 years construction management experience
  • Must be able to complete projects on time and on budget
  • Must be professional
  • Able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
  • Must be familiar with local codes and MAG specs and details.
  • Must have Competent Person training for excavations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • OSHA 30 preferred. Safety must be priority #1.
  • Must have a great positive attitude and be able to provide top quality customer service.
  • Must be honest and ethical.
  • Must have a good business reputation and verifiable references.
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of underground wet utilities and commercial contracting.

Project Manager for Wet Utilities including sewer, water, and storm drain. North Star Pipelines is an industry leader in commercial site development. North Star is seeking a highly skilled professional project manager. Position is in charge of job profitability, contracts, customer service, change orders, and assisting with estimates. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years experience in the Arizona Market.

WET UTILITY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!! This position requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of construction. Field knowledge should include excavation, trenching, backfill, safety, understanding of heavy equipment, pipelaying, backfill, compaction and all other aspects of underground construction. Office skills should include computers, change orders, liens, contracts, billings, estimates, and all other aspects of subcontracting. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with experience!
