What does an insurance project manager do?

An Insurance Project Manager oversees and coordinates projects within insurance companies, such as launching new products, implementing technology solutions, or improving business processes. They are responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope. Insurance Project Managers often work with cross-functional teams, manage risks, and communicate progress to stakeholders. Their expertise helps ensure that complex initiatives meet regulatory requirements and business objectives.

What are the typical challenges an insurance project manager faces when coordinating cross-functional teams?

Insurance Project Managers often collaborate with diverse teams, including underwriters, actuaries, IT specialists, and compliance officers. A common challenge is aligning different departments' priorities and ensuring clear communication about project goals, timelines, and regulatory requirements. Balancing the need for technical accuracy with business objectives, while managing stakeholder expectations and adapting to changing regulations, is also frequent. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to foster a collaborative environment across departments.

Location: St. Albert
Industry: Restoration & Insurance Repair
Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Commission + Company Vehicle + Benefits
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in insurance restoration? Do you enjoy building relationships, leading projects from start to finish, and helping homeowners navigate challenging situations?
Our client is an established and growing restoration company with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional service following property damage. Due to continued growth, they're looking for a Project Manager to join their collaborative team and oversee restoration projects from initial site assessment through to completion.
The Right Fit We're looking for an organized, relationship-focused Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing project management, customer service, and business development. You'll be a confident communicator who can build trust with homeowners, insurance professionals, subcontractors, and internal teams while keeping multiple projects moving efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Complete site assessments, develop project scopes, and prepare accurate estimates using Xactimate.
  • Manage multiple insurance restoration projects from initial site inspection through to completion.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, profitability, and overall project performance.
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for homeowners, insurance adjusters, and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare work orders for dispatch and maintain accurate project documentation throughout each project.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, progress, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurance adjusters, mitigation partners, and referral sources to support future business opportunities.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience managing restoration, insurance repair, renovation, or construction projects.
  • Restoration and insurance claims experience is an asset, but not essential for candidates with strong construction project management experience and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience working with insurance claims and insurance adjusters is an asset.
  • Strong estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and project management skills.
  • Experience with Xactimate or similar estimating software is highly valued; training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a proactive, customer-first approach.
  • Confidence using technology and adapting to new systems.
  • Residential construction experience.
  • Candidates with an established industry network or book of business are encouraged to apply.
Whether you're an experienced Restoration Project Manager looking for your next opportunity or a seasoned Construction Project Manager ready to transition into the restoration industry, we'd love to connect. If you're motivated to learn, build your expertise, and grow your career with an established company, we'll provide the support and training to help you succeed. Additional experience and an existing book of business will be recognized and rewarded accordingly.
Why Join This Team?
  • Competitive base salary plus commission.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Paid vacation.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • A supportive, collaborative team culture where everyone is willing to pitch in and help.
  • Long-term career growth with an established and expanding restoration company.
Apply Today If you're looking for an opportunity to lead meaningful projects, build lasting industry relationships, and grow your career with a company that values teamwork, continuous learning, and exceptional customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
