What You'll Be Doing

The Public Finance Associates are placed into geographic and/or sector teams with broad coverage responsibilities of municipal issuer clients. Associates will provide analytical and transaction support on municipal bond financings, assist in the development of proposals and presentations, provide general support to the initiatives of senior team members, and facilitate the new business development process. Associates must have the ability to work long hours - while maintaining a positive attitude, multi-tasking and meeting strict time deadlines. A strong desire and ability to learn technical and business development skills is important.

What We're Looking For

Draft and prepare effective client pitch books and requests for Proposals/Qualifications. Prepare detailed memorandums describing financing ideas and opportunities. Research industry and market trends, running and analyzing data. Research municipal issuers, their financial condition, capital needs and revenue sources. Create and monitor databases of client and prospective client outstanding bonds for refinancing opportunities. Develop and analyze complex financial and debt models. Develop financial analyses for bond issuance including revenue models, amortizations, debt profiles and the analysis of refinancing and borrowing using Excel and DBC bond sizing software. Act as a point of contact for the finance team throughout the financing process. Lead the internal processing of new issue financings. Work with senior team members to create marketing and sales materials. Prepare case studies on completed transactions. Attend client meetings and conferences with senior bankers (as requested).

What You'll Bring

Interest in public sector and municipal finance. Ability to multi-task, work independently and collaborate in teams. Knowledge, or ability to learn, web-based applications, and specialized information systems, including EMMA, Bloomberg, TM3, Munex and DBC bond sizing software. Knowledge of finance and accounting principles. Ability to prepare and deliver clear, effective and professional presentations. Competence in clearly and effectively communicating in both oral and written formats. Ability to regularly work long hours, beyond standard business hours. Ability to travel by car and/or air in conjunction with local, regional and/or national travel, up to 20%.

Education & Experience

Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field is desired Minimum Required: 2-6 years' related experience

Licenses & Credentials

Minimum Required: Series 50, 52 and 63 or ability to obtain within 12 months

Systems & Technology

 Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook    #LI-JK1

Compensation RangeSalary: USD $105,000.00/Yr. - USD $140,000.00/Yr. Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate's qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifel's overall compensation package for each individual employee.
