Job description

Purpose:

Athene is seeking a Senior Automation Analyst to join our Automated Order Entry (AOE) team, where you'll play a critical role in advancing digital capabilities that simplify the annuity application experience for financial professionals and customers. As a subject matter expert, you will help shape the future of our Order Entry platforms by designing scalable solutions, optimizing integrations, and supporting industry initiatives that improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Working across business, technology, and external partners, you'll lead automation initiatives that directly impact Athene's growth strategy while helping drive innovation across our operations.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for one or more Automated Order Entry platforms (Firelight, AnnuityNet, Affirm), supporting platform enhancements, business rules, integrations, and user experience improvements.

  • Partner with business and technology teams to define requirements, develop and execute test strategies, and successfully deliver product enhancements, regulatory updates, and strategic initiatives.

  • Develop, maintain, and support DTCC data feeds while monitoring production performance and resolving complex operational issues.

  • Build sustainable operational processes and documentation that improve platform stability, scalability, and long-term support.

  • Collaborate with external vendors, business stakeholders, Legal, and Compliance to implement industry initiatives and ensure successful delivery of automation solutions.

  • Apply innovative thinking, critical analysis, and AI-enabled approaches to streamline processes, improve testing efficiency, enhance data quality, and identify opportunities for continuous operational improvement.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience supporting insurance operations, business systems, automation platforms, order entry solutions, or related technology-driven operational processes.

  • Strong understanding of annuity products, operational workflows, and automated order entry platforms; experience with Firelight, AnnuityNet, and/or Affirm is strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting data feeds, systems integrations, testing, and production support; SQL, Visual Basic, or similar technical skills are preferred.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage ambiguity, drive innovation, and leverage AI tools appropriately to improve business outcomes.

  • Self-motivated with a bias for action, ownership mindset, adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results while collaborating across teams.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
