Job description

Job Overview:
We're seeking a motivated, experienced secretary to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of recent litigation experience. Insurance defense is desirable. A partial remote schedule is offered after an initial period in the office. The ideal candidate has solid communication skills, is well-organized, detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to handling their workload. Dependability and reliability are crucial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist attorneys in preparing, finalizing, serving and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
โ€ข Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files, ensuring that all relevant documents are accurately electronically filed and easily accessible.
โ€ข Prepare and manage correspondence, including emails, letters, and other written communications to clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
โ€ข Assist in trial preparation.
โ€ข Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases as needed.
โ€ข Calendar filing deadlines and court dates, ensuring deadlines are met.
โ€ข Perform other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
โ€ข Minimum 3 years litigation experience as a Legal Secretary.
โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
โ€ข Strong understanding of State and Federal court processes, including e-filing, court rules, forms, calendaring, pleadings, discovery procedures and trial preparation.
โ€ข Familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and documentation.
โ€ข Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
โ€ข Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
โ€ข Solid writing and proofreading skills.
โ€ข Strong work ethic and takes ownership and pride in work.
