To register patients being admitted to Inpatient, or Outpatient services.

Department Position Summary:
To register patients being admitted to Inpatient, or Outpatient services. Collect Deductible and co-pay when applicable. Monitor all Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency charts for accuracy in demographics, as well as insurance information. Complete Medicare Questionnaire when applicable. Present 'Letter from Medicare' to all Medicare recipients being admitted for Inpatient services. Make a reasonable effort to protect the privacy of patients according to HIPAA guidelines, also presenting our privacy guidelines to each patient.
Follow guidelines for informing patients of their Patient Rights and Responsibilities, explaining the authorization for treatment and authorization for Murphy Medical Center, Inc. to file their insurance. Perform clerical duties and providing clinical staff information as required. Assist in tracking of patients, answering telephone, contacting or call back of OR crew as necessary. An important part of this position is keeping clinical staff informed of patient flow and keeping family informed along with maintaining security and traffic control.
