Insurance Defense Paralegal — Greenville, SC
Coulter, Monroe & McDonald, LLC is an insurance defense firm located in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Our practice centers on auto negligence litigation, and we defend our clients' interests with a practical, responsive approach — moving files efficiently, keeping carriers informed, and resolving matters on favorable terms whenever possible.
We are adding a Paralegal to our litigation team and are looking for someone ready to assist our team of attorneys.
Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, political science or criminal justice preferred. Work experience of 3-5 years at minimum.
  • Paralegal Certificate is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong technological skills to include ability to electronically organize and manipulate documents; ability to effectively manage calendars; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience drafting legal papers like pleadings, affidavits and motions
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and take proper precautions to protect information electronically and physically
  • Detail-oriented, able to manage competing deadlines, and comfortable communicating directly with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
Responsibilities
  • Correspond with adjusters regarding issues in case files
  • Work on pre-litigation and litigation files
  • Prepare correspondence both in email form, business letters, and other documents as directed
  • Preparation of subpoenas
  • Schedule depositions and mediations
  • Calendar appointments for attorneys
  • Special tasks for attorneys
