The Referral Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the referral process to ensure timely and accurate patient care coordination. This role involves managing patient referrals, communicating with specialty offices, verifying insurance information, and liaising with providers and insurance companies to meet prior approval requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with eClinicalWorks and a background in clinical or managed care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and process patient referrals efficiently
  • Manage requests for patient information and medical records
  • Notify patients of their scheduled appointments
  • Process and communicate service requests to specialty offices
  • Ensure complete and accurate registration, patient demographics, and insurance data
  • Obtain consult reports and complete the referral closure process
