Performance Standards:

This key customer contact position must deliver outstanding customer service to all clients and other Valley Agencies employees. There is frequent contact with these individuals to service and grow the agency's business, address needs and questions, and process the position's work. The person in this position will be responsible for:

  • Screening and responding to calls, voicemails, correspondence, emails, and faxes while understanding priorities and taking appropriate action.
  • Working closely with clients to understand and resolve their information, servicing, and insurance needs.
  • Recommending the appropriate insurance products and services based on a client's identified insurance needs and cross-selling/referring other useful financial products and services to these clients based on additional uncovered needs.
  • Processing new business, endorsements, renewals, billings, binders, certificates, and claims.
  • Answering insurance company inquiries.
  • Solving problems.
  • Communicating accurately and professionally in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Composing correspondence for self and others using knowledge of various issues. ย Designing and producing presentation materials as needed.
  • Filing, preparing, and tracking client contact information.
  • Coordinating the production and distribution of a variety of reports.
  • Providing general administrative support, including copying, mailing, faxing, filing, and scanning.
  • Ensuring proper organization, retrieval, and storage of online files.
  • Responding to requests for information from producers, including locating files, marketing materials, phone numbers, and miscellaneous information.
  • Providing backup to other CSRs during absences and periods of peak workload.
  • Maintaining property-casualty and life-health licenses.
  • Adhering to continuing education requirements.
  • Keeping abreast of new products, sales techniques, and industry changes.
  • Performing other related duties as directed.

Full-Time Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • High School graduate or equivalent work experience.
  • Licensed insurance agent, all lines, or able to become licensed within 30 days.
  • Prior experience working for an Independent Insurance Agency.
  • Prior experience servicing both Personal and Commercial lines of insurance.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Dependable.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing communication style. Ability to communicate clearly with customers.
  • Persuasive selling style.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Outlook and Word experience and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a cooperative and harmonious relationship with various people. Team player

  • Ability to multitask.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Some college or vocational education with a business emphasis in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Property-casualty and life-health insurance license.
  • Prior AMS experience is a plus.
