About the Job โ€“ Real Estate Attorney

Location: Washington, D.C., District of Columbia, United States.

Salary range: $275,000 โ€“ $300,000 annually, based on year classification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, letter agreements, and other transactional real estate documents.
  • Advising on renewable energy project developments, specifically utilityโ€‘scale projects relating to site control and title insurance.
  • Counsel clients through purchases and leasing of real property, working with title companies and surveyors to negotiate title insurance coverage, endorsement language, and survey specifics.
  • Review title commitments, prepare closing instruction letters, and draft and negotiate curative instruments to address title defects and other title issues for developers.
  • Work on complex real estate property development matters alongside experienced attorneys.
Qualifications
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state where the candidate will be practicing.
  • 7โ€“10 years of realโ€‘estate experience (maximum 10 years).
  • Experience with renewable energy project developments is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing title commitments, preparing closing instructions, and negotiating curative instruments.
  • Strong academic credentials, communication, and writing skills.
  • Minimum of 7 years practicing with a large national firm; lateral candidates only from a firm in the Top 350 and currently practicing in the same practice group.
  • JD education required.
