Job description

Commercial Lines Insurance Agency Position

MUST BE OKAY WORKING HYBRID OUT OF ONE OF OUR OFFICES IN THE NEW ENGLAND REGION

General Description:

Market new prospective client accounts to carrier partners. Support commercial lines sales associates. Provide marketing analytics, negotiate carrier coverages, and finalize marketing and client onboarding process.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with sales associates to understand prospect's commercial lines insurance needs.

Develop submissions to carriers and obtain quotes. Respond to underwriters' inquiries.

Negotiate terms with carriers on prospect's behalf.

Finalize the marketing process and prepare appropriate proposal presentations.

Bind coverage for clients and execute client onboarding process.

Develop knowledge of insurance markets on behalf of USI.

Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.

Serve as technical expert on market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies.

Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems and technology platforms.

Keep current with industry, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

10 years + experience in commercial property & casualty insurance agency. Comprehensive understanding of all property & casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.

College degree preferred.

Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license.

Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.

Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.

Working knowledge of internet-based programs. Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.

Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate work.

Ability to maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
