Job description

Hospital Billing Representative -- Full-time, 40 hours a week
Under direction, is responsible for the processing of patient accounts from uploading into the clearinghouse application through final claim submission, both manual and electronic. This responsibility includes resolving remaining bill edit failures, claim submission, receipt reconciliation, rebilling when necessary, posting payments, and resolving balances. In addition, assists with other duties as assigned. These activities are completed following established policies and procedures, and in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, Payer contracts, HIPAA, regulatory agencies, and the organization's Code of Conduct.
Education/Experience:
  • HS diploma/GED required.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent undergraduate hours preferred.
  • One-year experience in healthcare financial services, healthcare registration services or related healthcare experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Computer Skills, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Patient Accounting Software, internet
  • Exquisite customer service
  • Works effectively and cooperatively in groups/ teams to continuously improve the process
  • Can work independently
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
