About the Role

In this position, you will manage complex third-party insurance coverage matters and drive key litigation strategies from inception through resolution.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing detailed legal analysis and strategic advice to insurance carriers on complex coverage issues.
  • Handling all aspects of insurance coverage litigation, including declaratory judgment actions and bad faith claims.
  • Drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, written discovery, and dispositive motions.
  • Participating directly in strategic case planning, risk assessments, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Taking and defending depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
  • Communicating directly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel, providing regular updates on case status and potential outcomes.
  • Managing cases efficiently while collaborating with partners and legal staff to meet billing and budget guidelines.
  • Traveling occasionally for court appearances, depositions, and client meetings.
What We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • 5 to 7 or more years of dedicated experience in third-party insurance coverage law.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Florida State bar license in good standing.
  • Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Advanced research, writing, and analytical skills tailored to complex legal opinions.
  • Exceptional communication and client-relationship management skills.
