The platform blends industry-leading multifamily underwriting, data science, and analytics technology. Our team utilizes the skills of the most trusted MAI-designated valuation experts in the U.S. and works to develop the appraisal tools of the future.

The Impact You Will Have

As an Apprise Associate, you will apply commercial real‑estate valuation knowledge to support the execution of appraisal engagements from initial analysis to report completion. You will partner with appraisers to evaluate market and property data, contribute to valuation analyses, and deliver high-quality appraisal reports.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Apply commercial appraisal methodologies, market analysis, and financial analysis to support valuation analyses and appraisal conclusions.
  • Analyze market trends, property characteristics, operating performance, comparable sales, rental data, and other inputs.
  • Evaluate property‑specific financial due diligence materials (income/expense statements, rent rolls, purchase and sale agreements, offering memoranda, development budgets).
  • Interpret data to develop credible analyses that support appraisal reports and valuation recommendations.
  • Partner closely with appraisers to evaluate data, resolve analytical questions, and support valuation conclusions.
  • Review research and preliminary analyses completed by Analysts and Senior Analysts for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before incorporation into reports.
  • Support complex appraisal assignments across multiple property types, geographic markets, and transaction structures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve appraisal processes, analytical approaches, and valuation tools to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to obtain information, resolve issues, and support successful engagement execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial or multifamily real‑estate valuation, underwriting, financial analysis, or appraisal.
  • Active Appraiser Trainee license in good standing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills; ability to interpret commercial real‑estate market and property data.
  • Working knowledge of commercial real‑estate research platforms (CoStar, RealPage, Yardi, REIS, ESRI, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of commercial appraisal principles, valuation methodologies, and applicable industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey analytical findings to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, independent management of complex analytical assignments, and contribution to valuation conclusions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to mentor and develop less experienced team members and foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Interest in commercial real‑estate, PropTech, and emerging valuation technologies; experience with data science, statistics, software programming, or financial modeling is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive benefit options earned Walker & Dunlop’s gold level of the 2025 Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation.
  • Up to 83% subsidized medical payroll deductions.
  • Competitive dental and vision benefits.
  • 401(k) with match.
  • Pre-tax transit and commuting benefits.
  • Robust health and wellness program with cash rewards and resources to promote health, engagement, and balance.
  • Paid maternity, parental, and other family paid leave programs.
  • Company-paid life, short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • Health Savings Account and Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account.
  • Career development opportunities.
