Position Summary

Frost Insurance Agency is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Group Health Insurance Agent to help businesses throughout Northwest Ohio design, implement, and manage employee benefit programs. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to employers, helping them navigate health insurance, ancillary benefits, compliance, and employee communication while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is organized, consultative, and enjoys building long-term relationships with business owners, HR professionals, and decision makers.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop new group health insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, and agency-generated leads.
  • Conduct employer needs assessments.
  • Prepare and present employee benefit proposals.
  • Quote fully insured, level-funded, and self-funded health plans.
  • Cross-sell ancillary benefits including:
    • Dental
    • Vision
    • Life Insurance
    • Disability Insurance
    • Critical Illness
    • Accident Insurance
    • Hospital Indemnity
    • Worksite/Voluntary Benefits

Client Management

  • Manage an assigned book of business.
  • Conduct annual renewal reviews.
  • Assist employers with benefit strategy and cost containment.
  • Coordinate open enrollment meetings.
  • Educate employees on available benefits.
  • Build long-term relationships that promote client retention.

Compliance & Administration

  • Assist clients with:
    • ACA compliance
    • COBRA
    • Section 125 plans
    • Medicare transition questions
    • Employee eligibility
    • New hire enrollments
    • Terminations
  • Work closely with carrier representatives and agency support staff.
  • Utilize Employee Navigator, BenefitPoint, AMS360, and carrier enrollment systems.

Agency Collaboration

  • Work alongside commercial and personal insurance producers to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Refer clients for commercial insurance, personal insurance, life insurance, Medicare, and retirement planning.
  • Participate in agency marketing events, educational seminars, and community activities.

Qualifications

  • Ohio Life & Health Insurance License (required)
  • 2+ years of employee benefits or group health insurance experience preferred
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex insurance concepts in a simple manner
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with quoting platforms and benefit administration systems preferred
