Job description

Paradies Lagardere is recruiting a Senior Accountant to join our Payroll & Insurance Accounting Team. The Senior Accountant - Payroll & Insurance will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting related to Payroll & Insurance. Primary responsibilities will include monthly journal entries and reconciliations. The Senior Accountant - Payroll & Insurance should be able to work independently, be deadline driven, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure.

The Senior Accountant report directly to the Accounting Manager and will also have frequent contact with other management, including the Director and Senior Director as well as other departments, which requires strong interpersonal and communication skills- both written and verbal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a strategy to improve the accuracy of recording Payroll & Insurance;
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations;
  • Review and approve journal entries on a regular basis related to all aspects of the areas of responsibility;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments within the Company that have a direct impact on areas of responsibility (Payroll, Human Resource, Operations, and Financial Analysis);
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Insurance Brokers and be main point of contact for those brokers;
  • Assist in the monthly financial close process by developing schedules that would assist in analysis and completing a thorough review of financial statements to ensure accuracy;
  • Ad hoc project completion and continuous process improvements;
  • Assist with preparation and review of year-end audit work papers and responses to audit inquiries;
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Required: BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Required: 5+ years public or private accounting experience
  • Required: 3+ years of payroll accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Excel including VLookups and SAP knowledge

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have strong knowledge of Payroll, SAP, all Microsoft Products and UKG (preferred)
  • Desire to identify and implement process improvements
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Work with a consistent sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations
  • Team player and ready to assist where needed
