Role overview

DUAL North America, Inc., is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial reporting and supporting the company's accounting operations. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with legal and company policies, while driving efficiency and consistency across financial functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys problem solving, values collaboration, and wants to contribute to a growing and dynamic organization.

Role responsibilities

  • Own key accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with company policies.

  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.

  • Oversee billing, revenue, and collections processes to support accurate and timely financial results.

  • Support the accounting and reporting of insurance premiums, commissions, premium receivables and related balances

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve accounting issues and support audits.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance operational performance.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen efficiency, consistency, and overall financial integrity.

  • Collaborate across the finance teams and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

  • Perform other projects and duties as needed.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, including exposure to insurance accounting, preferred

  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, accounting best practices, and internal controls

  • Ability and willingness to learn new software / systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently, identify discrepancies, and resolve proactively

  • Demonstrates high level of accuracy, critical thinking, and professional judgement

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (experience with lookups and pivot tables a must)

  • Previous experience with insurance administration systems (particularly IMS) is desirable.
