Job description

Overview

The primary purpose of this job is to track flood, hazard, and wind insurance coverage on loans secured by real and personal property in accordance with federal regulations and Trustmark policies and to track collateral document ticklers on Retail Bank loans according to state and federal laws.

Responsibilities
  • Track flood insurance coverage on Retail Bank loans secured by real property and located in a special flood hazard area in accordance with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) guidelines.
  • Track hazard and wind insurance coverage on Retail Bank loans secured by real and personal property according to internal bank policy.
  • Track collateral ticklers for multiple states in accordance to state and federal laws and bank policies.
  • Force place flood insurance coverage in compliance with federal guidelines through a third party vendor.
  • Force place hazard insurance coverage according to internal bank policies through a third party vendor.
  • Review and file finance company contracts; prepare UCC3 continuation forms.
  • Utilize compliance, government laws and regulations, and internal policies to load and maintain ticklers for multiple states.
  • Assist internal and external customers with account inquiries pertaining to collateral documents and flood, hazard, and wind insurance coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school education and at least four to five years of experience working with insurance coverage processes and policies for hazard, wind or flood insurance
  • Previous bank experience related to collateral document knowledge procedures
  • Experience resulting in intermediate skills associated with the following computer software system: Word and Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of flood insurance regulatory requirements related to retail bank real estate & SBA loans
  • Fundamental knowledge of insurance practices related to hazard & wind insurance coverage for retail bank loans
  • Strong knowledge of financial services with a focus on loan/insurance products, data systems, and insurance processes
  • Loan documentation knowledge for use when determining required flood coverage amounts (Ex. appraisals, final titles)
  • Firm computer skills (Word and Excel Test Required)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to accomplish work requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient ability to research and analyze loan and insurance information to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Must be detail oriented and organized

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens. Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds in order to process boxed or bagged coins.
