Job description

We are growing an entrepreneurial insurance agency focused on commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurance, working with business owners across multiple industries.ย  We are building a high-quality book of business and are looking for a motivated professional who can manager commercial accounts while helping generate new business.ย  The Commercial Lines Account Manager is a hybrid role ideal for someone who understands commercial insurance operations and is comfortable engaging clients and prospects.

Position Overview:

The Commercial Lines Account Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day commercial account servicing (ACRODs, submissions, quoting, certificates) while also assisting with and generating new business opportunities through referrals, inbound leads, and light outbound efforts.ย  This is not a call-center role and not a pure hunter role; rather a balanced position with strong growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete and manage ACORD applications (125, 126, 130, 140 etc).
  • Prepare and submit new business and renewal submissions to carriers and MGAs
  • Request, review, and negotiate quotes
  • Issue Certificate of Insurance (COIs) and endorsements
  • Manage renewals and remarket accounts as needed
  • Maintain accurate client records in agency management system.
  • Communicate with underwriters, carriers, and wholesalers
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of all documentation
  • New business development:
    • Work inbound leads and referrals
    • Assist in developing new commercial P&C accounts
    • Follow up on quotes and close business
    • Cross-sell additional coverages where appropriate
    • Support agency growth initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Propertyย  & Casualty insurance license
  • Prior experience in commercial lines of insurance
  • Hands-on experience completing ACORD forms
  • Strong understanding of commercial coverages
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline driven
  • Professional phone and email presence.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience with agency management systems (Applied, HawkSoft, EZLynx, Etc.)
    • Experience working with MGAs and wholesales
    • Prior exposure to small-to-mid market commercial accounts
    • Ability to balance service work with light sales activity

Physical Requirements:

The Commercial Lines Account Manager must be an excellent communicator both written and verbally.ย  The position requires using a computer which includes typing for long periods of time, looking at a screen for long periods of time, sitting for extended periods of time and often all day.
