Position Summary

The Senior Regional Sales Manager - Architectural is responsible for leading the development and execution of the regional sales strategy to drive profitable growth, increase market share, strengthen customer relationships, and support Atlas Molded Products' long-term business objectives. This role serves as a strategic leader within the Architectural Sales organization and is accountable for delivering revenue growth through effective market development, specification influence, channel management, and sales team leadership.

The Senior Regional Sales Manager - Architectural leads a team of Territory Sales Representatives and independent Sales Agents across the assigned region while fostering strong partnerships with architects, consultants, distributors, contractors, OEM customers, and key internal stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in identifying market opportunities, influencing product strategy, and driving organizational excellence throughout the sales function.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Development

  • Develop and execute comprehensive regional sales and market growth strategies aligned with divisional and corporate objectives.
  • Drive profitable revenue growth through expansion of existing accounts, penetration of new markets, and development of key strategic customer relationships.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities, industry trends, and competitive advantages to increase market share.
  • Lead regional strategic planning efforts, including forecasting, sales pipeline management, territory optimization, and market segmentation.
  • Influence product specifications through engagement with architects, design professionals, consultants, and key decision-makers throughout the construction value chain.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with major customers, distributors, contractors, and industry influencers.

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to Territory Sales Representatives and independent Sales Agents across the region.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, customer engagement, continuous improvement, and results achievement.
  • Develop talent through mentoring, succession planning, training initiatives, and career development opportunities.
  • Establish performance expectations and key performance indicators while providing regular feedback and development support.
  • Champion employee engagement and foster collaboration, innovation, and professional growth throughout the sales organization.

Market Intelligence & Business Planning

  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity, pricing strategies, regulatory developments, and industry trends to drive informed business decisions.
  • Evaluate regional sales performance and develop actionable plans to address opportunities and challenges.
  • Partner with executive leadership to contribute to strategic planning, annual operating plans, and long-range growth initiatives.
  • Leverage business analytics and customer insights to identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement.
  • Develop and manage regional sales forecasts, budgets, and expense plans to meet financial performance objectives.

Customer & Channel Management

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for key customer issues, ensuring timely resolution while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners and customers to develop mutually beneficial growth strategies.
  • Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, training programs, and technical education sessions to enhance market awareness and product adoption.
  • Represent Atlas Molded Products at industry associations, trade shows, conferences, and customer events to strengthen brand presence and market influence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product Management, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Technical Support to deliver exceptional customer experiences and achieve business objectives.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback that contributes to product development, innovation, pricing strategy, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Department and Sales Leadership to manage credit exposure, customer terms, collections, and incentive programs.

Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and ethical business practices.
  • Maintain accurate sales reporting, forecasting, and customer relationship management data.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned region to support customers, employees, and business initiatives.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably within building materials, construction products, insulation, manufacturing, or industrial markets.
  • Demonstrated success leading regional sales organizations and delivering sustained revenue and profitability growth.
  • Experience managing remote sales teams and independent sales representatives across a multi-state territory.
  • Proven ability to develop executive-level customer relationships and influence specification-driven sales processes.
