Job description

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Economics Instructor in the General Education. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
The ECON (Economics) 1101 course provides a description and analysis of economic operations in contemporary society. Emphasis is placed on developing an understanding of economic concepts and policies as they apply to everyday life. ECON 2105 (Macroeconomics) provides a description of macroeconomic principles and policies, such as macroeconomic equilibrium and the impact of fiscal and monetary policies. The ECON 2106 (Microeconomics) provides an analysis of the ways in which consumers and business firms interact in a market economy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
All instructors of ECON courses serve as educator, resources, and representatives of Atlanta Technical College.
Additionally, ECON instructors will demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of electronic grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.
Instructor must demonstrate the effective use of oral and written communication skills, follow approved curriculum standards, and implement department course syllabi.
The instructor should also advice and counsel students and maintain appropriate records for each student.
Instructors should also attend meetings as required.
May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree (from an accredited institution) in Economics or in a related field with a minimum of at least 18 completed graduate hours in ECON..
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of and efficiency in the use of BlackBoard.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
