Instructional Designer
Department: Training & Enablement

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 / year
Description
As an Instructional Designer, you will lead the design and delivery of learning content that builds AI fluency across Brivo's employees and customers. You will assess skill gaps, build structured upskilling programs, create training content that helps learners adopt AI tools confidently and effectively in their day-to-day work, and adapt reseller content for an end-user audience. Our Instructional Designer will also
  • Design and manage an internal AI training program with relevant curriculum, from foundational AI literacy through role-specific, applied AI skills
  • Execute the ADDIE course creation lifecycle for AI-focused elearning content:
  • Collaborate closely with the Instructional Design team and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across departments to identify AI upskilling needs and priorities
  • Partner with technical and product teams to ensure AI-related content is accurate, current, and relevant as tools and capabilities evolve
  • Create detailed storyboards and course design documents
  • Design and develop engaging content (elearning, instructional videos, microlearning, job aids) using various authoring tools, with a focus on AI training/upskilling and end user content
  • Create objective-aligned knowledge checks and practical exercises that measure learners' ability to apply AI tools and concepts on the job
  • Iteratively review and update AI program content in a timely manner based on learner feedback, tool changes, and new AI capabilities
  • Launch and manage AI upskilling content in our learning management system (LMS), and track program adoption and completion
  • Provide regular updates to and maintenance of existing AI upskilling courses and resources
  • Utilize Generative AI tools to scale training content creation - including scriptwriting, use-case development, course summaries, and assessments
  • Proactively research AI tools, trends, and best practices, quickly learning new capabilities to keep upskilling programs current and effective
  • Conduct needs assessments specific to end-user training and modify and tailor some reseller-focused learning materials specifically for end users
  • Measure and report on program impact, using metrics and learner feedback to demonstrate the value of AI upskilling initiatives and end user training content
  • Work independently and with outstanding communication skills to set and meet quarterly objectives and deadlines
  • Collaborate with the Training & Enablement (T&E) team to organize content within shared workspaces
  • Support additional team initiatives as needed, in a helpful spirit of collaboration

About You
  • Experience utilizing ADDIE required
  • Demonstrated experience using Generative AI tools for content development (e.g., scriptwriting, storyboarding, assessment creation) required
  • Experience using Articulate Rise and Storyline required
  • Experience with Camtasia or a similar tool for video creation and editing required
  • Experience with LMSs (such as LearnUpon) required
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, time management, communication, and attention to detail required
  • Proven experience designing and delivering upskilling or capability-building programs required
  • Ability to translate complex, fast-changing technical concepts (especially around AI) into clear, digestible content required
  • Proven experience delivering multi-modal trainings, detailed course design documents, implementation strategies, and program evaluations required
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field required

Preferred skills:
  • Experience building or supporting AI adoption, AI literacy, or digital transformation programs preferred
  • Ability to conduct and analyze results of a needs and/or gap analysis preferred
  • Experience in technology or security industry preferred
  • Experience using Asana or a similar project management system preferred
  • Experience with Google Suite and Apple products preferred
  • Experience creating learning videos and animations preferred
  • Experience creating technical training preferred

The compensation for this full-time salaried role is between $80,000 and $95,000 USD. Individual compensation packages are based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, training, and market conditions.
