Job Title
Summary
The Institutional Research Analyst provides technical and operational support to the Institutional Research Office. This role focuses on executing clearly defined technical tasks such as data extraction, data cleansing, basic data analysis, and survey administration. The Analyst works under the direction of the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. The position assures integrity of standards related to external compliance reporting. The Analyst reports to the Director of Institutional Research.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The standard work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Exempt professionals, are expected to maintain a flexible schedule to ensure all responsibilities and collegiate needs are met, including occasional work outside of core business hours.)
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Extracts and cleanses data from the College's Student Information System, Data Warehouse, SQL queries, and other systems using established procedures.
  2. Maintains current and accurate compliance records and files as required by third-party organizations.
  3. Prepares data and descriptive analyses for research studies led by the Executive Director.
  4. Assists with benchmarking and environmental scans.
  5. Maintains and updates reports designed by the Director for Institutional Research.
  6. Creates presentation-quality reports, visualizations, and graphs.
  7. Manages the lifecycle of ad hoc and scheduled classroom, faculty, and staff surveys, including survey development, cleaning and summarizing results, and producing basic survey reports for departments.
  8. Assists in data management and organization for Institutional Research.
  9. Assists in updating reports and maintaining information on the portal and website.
  10. Assists with data gathering for the various federal, state, and external grants.
  11. Contributes to the college's accreditation efforts by assisting with the gathering of necessary data and evidence.
  12. Develops and reviews annual reporting for Institutional Factbook and Graduate Outcome Reports.
  13. Updates and Maintains the IR Annual Reporting Calendar
  14. Monitors and maintains Institutional Research data request ticket queue.
  15. Communicates on behalf of IR to internal and external stakeholders regarding project timelines, guidelines, and expectations as directed.
  16. Monitors and maintains the IR email account mailbox.
  17. Creates and maintains technical documentation including detailed queries, data sources, and processes and follows established data standards and definitions.
  18. Pursues professional development opportunities to learn emerging tools and advance technical skillsets as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field.

Certifications
  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)

Work Experience
  • Two years of experience in higher education administration, Institutional Research, Assessment, Foundation or Development, and/or Enrollment highly desired.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL, Survey Monkey, and Argos.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed program records
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn the College's administrative computing systems (Banner, InfoQuest, Argos, Lightcast).
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to draft and edit professional correspondence.
  • Detail Orientation: High level of accuracy in proofreading, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Technology Skills: Confident in learning and using digital tools for data entry, scheduling, faculty load and compensation, document management and virtual collaboration.
  • Critical thinking: Ability to anticipate needs, prioritize tasks, and resolve problems effectively.
  • Multitasking: Comfortable managing multiple assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision.
