JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness provides strategic leadership for the College's assessment, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position leads the development and implementation of assessment and strategic planning processes that support the College's mission, vision, and long-term goals while promoting a culture of evidence-based decision making.
The Director oversees the collection, analysis, benchmarking, trending, and reporting of institutional data to evaluate the effectiveness of academic and administrative programs, monitor student success and retention, establish institutional and departmental performance metrics, and support college-wide strategic initiatives. Working collaboratively with leadership, faculty, staff, and governance committees, the Director provides guidance, training, and consultation on assessment planning, outcomes measurement, and the use of data to drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
The Director serves as the College's primary liaison for accreditation and compliance efforts, coordinates institutional assessment and program review activities, prepares reports and presentations for stakeholders including leadership and governing boards, and ensures the institution meets or exceeds established standards and best practices. Additional responsibilities include managing the College Assessment Program and assessment budget, supervising staff, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and fostering collaboration and accountability across the institution to advance student learning, organizational effectiveness, and strategic priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master's degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Institutional Research, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in institutional effectiveness, assessment, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of assessment techniques, institutional accreditation processes, and strategic planning in higher education.
Knowledge:
Outstanding communication skills necessary for addressing, listening, and responding to different audiences. Familiarity with accreditation standards. Understanding of metrics and their relationship to the success of an organization. Experience with Microsoft products including PowerPoint and Excel (or similar product). Demonstrate excellence in decision-making.
ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Ability to design effective learning activities for students; ability to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, and students; ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills; knowledge of effective teaching techniques and curriculum development; knowledge of metrics, analysis, quality improvement processes; skilled in facilitating the development of student problem solving skills; and is an effective leader.
