AGENCY DESCRIPTION:

AncoraTN (ATN), formerly End Slavery Tennessee, works tirelessly to nurture survivor healing and strategically combat human trafficking in Middle Tennessee. We seek to break cycles of exploitation and support survivors of human trafficking as they heal from their traumas offering long-term, comprehensive aftercare services. Through training communities and professionals, advocating for legal changes, and implementing prevention programming, AncoraTN works to stop human trafficking before it ever begins.

AncoraTN was founded in 2012 as a faith-based, not-for-profit organization for the purpose of community awareness and education. REPORTS TO: Chief Development and Marketing Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Annual Giving & Grants Manager is responsible for advancing AncoraTN's annual giving and institutional fundraising efforts through grant development, donor stewardship, annual giving campaigns, and relationship management. Reporting to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, this position serves as a key member of the Development Team by leading Ancora's institutional grant program, managing broad-based annual giving initiatives, and cultivating a select portfolio of mid-level donors.

Working collaboratively with direct service, finance, marketing, and our CRM, the Annual Giving & Grants Manager research funding opportunities, prepares and submits compelling grant proposals, completes grant reporting requirements, stewards assigned institutional funders, and executes coordinated fundraising campaigns designed to retain, grow, and deepen donor engagement. This role also leads Ancora's monthly giving program and annual fund initiatives while helping identify and cultivate donors with increased philanthropic potential.

The ideal candidate is an organized relationship-builder and strong communicator who enjoys writing compelling grant proposals, managing fundraising campaigns, and building meaningful relationships that inspire long-term investment in Ancora's mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Writing & Foundation Relations (50%) oResearch and identify prospective private, corporate, community, and institutional funding opportunities.

  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials. oMaintain the annual grants calendar, ensuring all proposals, renewals, and reports are submitted on time.
  • Prepare timely and accurate grant reports, budgets, and supporting documentation. oCultivate and steward relationships with assigned foundation funders through regular communication, meetings, and updates.
  • Maintain accurate grant records, funding history, and prospect information within the donor database. oCollaborate with program, finance, and leadership staff to gather data, outcomes, budgets, and stories for grant proposals and reports.
  • Monitor grant outcomes and identify opportunities for renewal and future funding.
  • Provide regular grant pipeline updates and funding forecasts to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer.
  • Annual Giving & Donor Engagement (25%) oLead AncoraTN's annual giving efforts to strengthen donor retention, increase annual philanthropy, and grow recurring giving.

  • Manage the organization's Annual Giving strategy and calendar. oLead the Monthly Giving Program, including donor acquisition, stewardship, retention, and upgrades.
  • Coordinate Giving Tuesday and Year-End Giving campaigns in partnership with the Director fo Marketing.
  • Mid-Level Donor Portfolio Management (20%) oManage a select portfolio of approximately 40–60 mid-level donors with the goal of strengthening relationships and increasing philanthropic support.

  • Develop individualized cultivation and stewardship plans for assigned donors. oConduct donor meetings, stewardship visits, thank-you calls, and personalized outreach.
  • Make annual renewal and upgrade solicitations within assigned giving levels. oIdentify donors with major gift potential and coordinate transitions to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer.
  • Document donor interactions and next steps within the CRM.
  • Maintain regular communication with assigned donors throughout the year.
  • Development Operations & Team Collaboration (5%) oSupport the overall success of the Development Department through planning, reporting, and collaboration.

  • Maintain accurate donor and grant records in the CRM. oCollaborate with Marketing, Finance, Programs, and the Donor & Data Specialist to ensure accurate reporting and donor stewardship.
  • Participate in departmental planning, fundraising strategy, and campaign evaluation.
  • Perform other development-related duties as assigned.
  • Any other tasks given by supervisor

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This position is a hybrid position with some in-office requirements for in-person meetings and events. Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone, and engaged in face-to-face conversation with staff and/or clients. Some car travel and use of personal vehicle is required. Telecommuting arrangements may be discontinued at any time at the discretion of the organization and/or supervisor.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, English, public administration, business, marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. oMinimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, foundation relations, or development.
  • Demonstrated success researching, writing, and securing competitive grant proposals. oExperience managing grant reporting, compliance, and post-award stewardship.
  • Experience coordinating multiple grant deadlines and managing a grant calendar. oStrong understanding of private, corporate, community, and institutional grantmaking.
  • Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills. oStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with donor databases/CRMs and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience managing federal, state, and local government grants, including reporting and compliance requirements. oExperience developing grant budgets in partnership with finance staff.
  • Experience managing annual giving campaigns or donor stewardship initiatives. oExperience cultivating relationships with foundations and institutional funders.
  • Experience managing a donor portfolio and conducting donor meetings or stewardship calls. oExperience with Neon CRM or similar donor management software.
  • Familiarity with fundraising best practices, donor moves management, and annual giving strategies.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    JOB TYPE:
