Job description

Fence Installer - Helper

Viking has been a Texas tradition in fencing since 1972 as an established and vertically integrated building materials and construction services company, with multiple locations in Texas. We are proud to continue to attract and maintain some of the best talent in the fence building industry and we want you to join the team!

Viking Fence is excited to add a full time Fence Installer- Helper . This role has tremendous upside potential as the company has grown revenue for 12+ years and continues to expand its Rental department.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Keep rental products in an ordered, logical manner.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.
  • Always make safety a priority.
  • Complete special projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • The ideal candidate will have one or more years in a service-related role with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, efficient.
  • Experience operating an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, skid steers, forklift etc.
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
  • High level of composure and good stress management.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • A typical day consists of approximately 50% travel and 50% installation and removal of rental product at designated locations.
  • 6 day per week shift required, with off hour availability for special events.
  • This position is labor intensive, requiring lifting, reaching, and bending while installing rental equipment
  • Will be exposed to all types of weather on a regular basis.
  • Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weight (up to 75 lbs.) regularly
  • Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base hourly pay of $10.00 per hour, with opportunity to earn more with piece rate pay for install and pick up activities.
