POSITION OVERVIEW
We are actively hiring Central Office Installers (Levels 1–4) to join our national field team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of electrical and optical telecom equipment within central offices and data centers across the U.S. This is a full-time, travel-intensive role, ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, hands-on, and thrive in dynamic, team-oriented environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, remove, and maintain central office equipment, including power systems, circuits, and common systems hardware
  • Perform power transition work, battery installation/removal, and power board modifications
  • Conduct equipment testing, system turn-up, and fiber optic characterization
  • Supervise or lead job sites, including oversight of subcontractor activities and junior technicians
  • Read, interpret, and verify job specifications and site drawings; resolve issues as needed
  • Conduct in-process and final quality inspections and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate project updates with customers and internal teams
  • Safely operate company-owned or rented vehicles and equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may involve working in:

  • Raised floor environments
  • Tight crawl spaces, shaftways, or manholes
  • Outdoor areas (hand digging/trenching may be required)
  • Rooftops or elevated locations

You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all job site areas.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Willingness to travel extensively (4 weeks at a time, nationwide)
  • Previous experience in a Central Office or data center environment required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively (both written and verbal)
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
  • Strong self-motivation, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced or high-pressure environments and odd hours/shifts
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 80 lbs and safely climb ladders while handling tools and materials
  • Familiarity with tools such as a Brady labeler and common telecom hand tools
  • Ability to distinguish colors and read fine print accurately
  • Leadership skills for managing crews and delivering quality-focused projects
