Installation manager is a managerial role in any industry that involves the installation of a complex system or structure. In this career, your job duties are to supervise the team for each installation project assigned to you, decide the schedule for work, hire any necessary suppliers or installers for your team, and help with material handling. Depending on the company for which you work, you may act as a liaison between the client and the team. This is an extremely social position, as you communicate with customers, technical teams, outside suppliers, and financers on a daily basis. Most installation managers focus on a specific type of installation, such as flooring or appliances, so you may need additional industry relevant experience or skills to succeed in this position.

Job description

Site Installation Superintendent – Boise, Idaho

We are seeking a Site Installation Superintendent to lead the onsite installation of complex off-site modularized systems. This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who knows how to keep crews, trade partners, schedules, logistics, quality, and safety moving in the same direction.

This role is ideal for a Superintendent with experience in construction supervision, structural steel, prefabrication, modular construction, MEP coordination, field installation, and trade partner management.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day coordination between off-site fabrication and onsite installation
  • Oversee installation of prefabricated Off-Site Modularization / OSM assemblies and integrated systems
  • Coordinate structural steel, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, logistics, trade partners, and field operations
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and installation plans to keep work aligned
  • Develop and manage installation schedules, including two-week look-aheads
  • Track progress, identify delays, and implement recovery plans when needed
  • Lead coordination meetings and resolve scope, sequencing, and field conflicts
  • Hold subcontractors and trade partners accountable for schedule, quality, and safety
  • Serve as the primary jobsite contact for installation-related issues
  • Verify installed work meets project requirements, quality standards, codes, and design intent
  • Support inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout as needed
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of construction supervision experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building systems, prefabrication, and field installation
  • Experience with structural steel and general MEP scopes — mechanical, plumbing, and electrical
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Experience developing schedules, two-week look-aheads, and managing project timelines
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage trade partners and diverse field teams
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
  • OSHA 30 preferred, or ability to obtain

What makes this the right job for you

This is not a “stand on the sidelines” Superintendent role. You’ll be the field leader responsible for making sure complex modular systems arrive, align, install, and perform correctly.

You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, fabrication teams, logistics, trade partners, and clients — playing a key role in delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
