Job description

Purpose

The Install Manager is responsible for installation side of the HVAC business.

Essential Job Functions

E    Ensure that installer exceed all customer service standards through training and coaching.

E    Hold monthly install meetings and ensures the timely communication of new initiatives and policies.

E    Actively participate in bi-weekly management team meetings on current issues and solutions.

E    Recruits, interviews, and hires quality installation employees who embody our company values.

E    Manage daily scheduling operations, ensure that jobs are ready for installation.

E    Contact customers regarding scheduling issues, scheduling subcontractors and inspections. Responsible for coordinating communication between installers, field supervisors, customers, vendors and the office.

E    Supervises and delegates installation employees; including hiring, disciplining, scheduling, counseling, training, evaluating performance, and overseeing work assignments to ensure effective production.

E    Ensures that materials and equipment are ordered for scheduled jobs.

E    Stays in touch with installation crews to assist with unexpected needs.

E    Ensures that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.

E    Checks to ensure that each job is completed and that appropriate documentation and/or payments have been received.

E    Resolves customer issues and problems encountered by installation personnel.

N   Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours

This is an exempt position. Work hours to be determined based on the needs of the business. Extended hours and weekends may be required to meet business needs.

Competencies

This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.  This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.

Education and Experience

Requires a valid driver's license. Requires a high school diploma and/or equivalent. A working knowledge of basic carpentry, gas piping, electricity and air flow are required. Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards. Strong supervisory, communications, computer and mathematical skills are required. Minimum of 5+ years previous HVAC experience as Install Manager.

Work Environment

Frequently works in outside weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures and/or conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet, snow, hot, and humid conditions. Subject to dark confined workspaces such as crawl spaces and attics. Office like work environment as well throughout the day.

Physical Demands

Light to heavy working conditions. Be comfortable with and physically able to safely help lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, bend, crawl and kneel. Must be able to lift 100+ pounds at a time.

Supervisory Responsibility

Directly supervises employees in the Installation Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel

Regular travel should be expected between Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning and job sites. Travel should be expected within any of the following counties: King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson and Island. Travel to be expected primarily during normal business hours.
