Job Description
This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on a data center in Monroe, Louisiana. You will interpret blueprints, install wiring and conduit, and ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards. The position requires strong hands-on skills, solid electrical theory knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently on first-shift schedules with potential overtime.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to plan and execute electrical wiring for lighting, intercom, fire alarm, and other electrical systems.
- Install electrical devices and fixtures, including switches, circuit-breaker panels, fire alarm systems, plugs, and lighting.
- Pull wire and route it safely and efficiently through structures according to plans and code requirements.
- Bend and install EMT and rigid conduit to support and protect electrical wiring.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues by inspecting, testing, and diagnosing problems in existing systems.
- Install, repair, and replace electrical wires and components to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical theory to ensure all installations meet code and safety standards.
- Work on commercial new construction projects, including large facilities such as training centers and similar structures.
- Collaborate with other electricians and construction trades to complete projects on schedule.
- Follow all safety procedures on job sites, including OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Be available for overtime during the week and occasional Saturday work as project needs require.
Essential Skills
- At least 4 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Hands-on experience bending and installing EMT conduit.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical theory.
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and components.
- Experience working with rigid conduit.
- Ability to install electrical devices and fixtures such as switches, panels, fire alarm systems, plugs, and lighting.
- Ability to pull wire and install conduit safely and efficiently.
- OSHA 10 certification, or willingness to complete OSHA 10 training during orientation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong attention to safety and adherence to job site regulations.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday on first shift and be open to overtime and Saturday work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Journeyman certification or Journeyman card is a plus but not required.
- CPR and First Aid training are preferred.
- Formal education in electrical or related fields is beneficial, especially for higher-level roles.
- Experience on commercial new construction projects.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working with various types of conduit, including EMT and rigid.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on fast-paced projects.

Work Environment
This role is based on commercial new construction projects in the greater Nashville area, including large facilities such as training centers. You will work primarily Monday through Friday on first shift, with start times typically between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., and standard 8-hour days, with the expectation of overtime during the week and occasional Saturday work as project demands require. The job involves working on active construction sites, using tools and equipment for conduit bending, wire pulling, device installation, and system troubleshooting, while following OSHA and NEC standards. The environment is hands-on and field-based, with an emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork across multiple job sites.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
