We are looking for individuals who are interested in full-time employment in the role of Automotive Damage Inspector at our facility in Flint, MI!

At Autoport, the Automotive Damage Inspector inspects vehicles for damage, and reports the condition of automotive arrivals and exits. This role communicates with a variety of key stakeholders, and is vital to the success of our organization. We require our Inspectors to have a keen eye for detail, be comfortable with working outdoors in adverse conditions, and have the ability to perform in an environment where the workload and demands frequently change.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Complete detailed inspections of incoming / outgoing vehicles to observe for any scratches, dents, scuffs, or otherwise problematic blemishes to the body of the vehicles
  • Assess and make record of vehicular damages or anomalies viewed, grading these against a standardized scale.
  • Photograph damages and/or anomalies and upload images for record-keeping purposes.
  • Transmit information to original equipment manufacturers (OEM's), shipping companies, and third-party contractors for oversight of claims and damages.
  • Communicate with OEM's, local leadership, and the Claims and Inspections Manager to ensure all relevant information is available at any time to the appropriate parties.

Qualifications

  • High-School education, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks with minimal direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to establish and maintain cooperative, positive, working relationships with colleagues.
  • Intermediate Skill with Microsoft Office programs, Internet, and a willingness to learn proprietary software for reporting purposes.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
