In this unique role, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to provide comprehensive, annual 25-point inspections for homeowners. This leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the program from the ground up while ensuring exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships with our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Residential Inspections: Conduct thorough 25-point Home Health Checks covering structural, exterior, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and interior systems.
- Identify Repair Needs: Spot wear, deterioration, safety concerns, and potential issues before they escalate.
- Member Engagement: Interact professionally with homeowners, explaining findings in clear language and addressing their questions to build trust and loyalty.
- Repair Recommendations: Discuss necessary repairs, their importance, and associated costs, helping homeowners schedule work with our team in a consultative manner.
- Professional Reporting: Produce mobile-friendly inspection reports with actionable recommendations for homeowners.
- Estimating Support: Collaborate with estimators to scope projects and determine direct costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Quality Standards: Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and standard operating procedures for the inspection program.
- Training Development: Create a training manual for onboarding future inspectors as the program expands.
- Inspection Technology Management: Utilize modern inspection platforms like Spectora or HomeGauge for on-site reporting.
- Professional Conduct: Adhere to ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics in all inspections.
Requirements
- Experience: Extensive hands-on background in construction trades with practical knowledge of residential construction methods and common failure points.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with homeowners courteously and patiently.
- Repair Discussion Proficiency: Ability to effectively explain and sell recommended repairs without pressure tactics.
- Estimating Skills: Familiarity with estimating repair costs and understanding labor and material pricing.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable learning and using inspection software; basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Communication Skills: Strong written communication ability for producing readable reports.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Independent Work: Ability to work independently and manage confidential client information discreetly.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASHI, InterNACHI, or comparable home inspection certification.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience.
- Background in general contracting, remodeling, or multi-trade repair work.
- Experience in customer-facing or in-home sales roles.
Physical Requirements
- Field-based role requiring access to attics and crawlspaces, climbing ladders, walking roofs, and moving throughout residential properties in varying weather conditions.
