We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspector with NBIS Team Leader Certification to join a growing engineering team. This full-time role involves planning, coordinating, and performing bridge inspections while ensuring compliance with federal and state inspection standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on bridge inspection experience, strong technical reporting skills, and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and perform bridge inspections in accordance with FHWA, NBIS, and client requirements.
Conduct detailed visual and hands-on inspections of various bridge structures.
Assess bridge conditions, structural deficiencies, deterioration, and load-carrying capacity.
Prepare accurate inspection reports, sketches, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to communicate inspection findings and recommendations.
Recommend immediate repairs and long-term maintenance strategies based on inspection results.
Coordinate inspection equipment, safety vehicles, and field resources required for inspections.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures.
Maintain accurate inspection records and assist with inspection data analysis.
NBIS Team Leader Certification (Required).
Proven experience performing bridge inspections.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel (up to 40%).
Comfortable working at heights, over water, and in confined spaces.
Physically capable of climbing and inspecting various bridge types.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Experience using bridge inspection software and reporting systems.
Knowledge of bridge maintenance, rehabilitation, and structural evaluation.
Familiarity with FHWA bridge inspection standards and applicable state regulations.
Up to 40% overnight travel is required.
Travel will primarily involve bridge inspections at project sites across the assigned region.
The ideal candidate is an experienced and certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader who enjoys fieldwork, prioritizes safety, has exceptional attention to detail, and is capable of delivering high-quality bridge inspection reports while working collaboratively with engineering teams.
