What is insomnia?

Insomnia is a common sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early and not being able to get back to sleep. People with insomnia often feel tired during the day, which can affect their mood, energy levels, and overall quality of life. Insomnia can be caused by stress, medical conditions, medications, or unhealthy sleep habits, and it can be short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic). Treatment options include improving sleep hygiene, cognitive behavioral therapy, and sometimes medication.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an insomnia specialist?

To thrive as an Insomnia Specialist, you need expertise in sleep medicine, a medical degree or psychology background, and specific training or certification in sleep disorders. Familiarity with polysomnography, actigraphy, and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is typically required. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and patient education skills help build trust and ensure effective treatment plans. These competencies are crucial for accurately diagnosing sleep disorders and guiding patients toward improved health and quality of life.

What are some common challenges insomnia therapists face when supporting clients with chronic sleep issues?

Insomnia Therapists often encounter challenges such as helping clients break long-standing habits that negatively impact sleep and addressing underlying factors like anxiety or lifestyle stressors. Building trust and maintaining client engagement over multiple sessions can also be difficult, especially when progress is gradual. Therapists regularly collaborate with primary care physicians, psychologists, and sometimes sleep specialists to create comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.

What is the difference between Insomnia vs Sleep Technician?

AspectInsomniaSleep Technician

Work EnvironmentClinical or outpatient sleep clinics, hospitalsSleep labs, hospitals, clinics
Industry UsagePatient diagnosis and treatment of sleep disordersMonitoring and conducting sleep studies

Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling or staying asleep, often requiring medical diagnosis and treatment. A Sleep Technician, on the other hand, is a healthcare professional who conducts sleep studies to diagnose sleep disorders like insomnia. While insomnia is a condition, a sleep technician is a job role within the sleep medicine industry, often working in sleep labs to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Insomnia Cookies is revolutionizing the cookie game by truly "Imagining What's Possible"!

At Insomnia Cookies, warm cookies are just the beginning.

As a Cookie Crew Delivery Driver, you'll deliver more than cookies-you'll deliver the moments people remember. Whether it's a late-night study break, birthday surprise, office celebration, or just someone's well-deserved treat, you'll be the friendly face bringing a little happiness right to their door.

When you're not out making deliveries, you'll be part of the bakery team-helping prepare orders, welcoming guests, and keeping the bakery running smoothly. Every shift is different, but one thing never changes: our commitment to delivering warm cookies and exceptional hospitality.

If you enjoy driving, meeting new people, and working with an energetic team, we'd love to meet you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Every shift is a mix of driving, hospitality, and teamwork. You'll:

  • Deliver Insomnia Cookies orders safely, accurately, and with a smile.
  • Ensure every order arrives warm, complete, and ready to impress.
  • Navigate efficiently using GPS and delivery technology while following safe driving practices.
  • Welcome guests in the bakery and provide friendly service between deliveries.
  • Assist with preparing, packaging, and organizing delivery and pickup orders.
  • Help bake and package cookies and other treats as needed.
  • Operate the register and process guest transactions.
  • Keep the bakery clean, organized, stocked, and food-safe.
  • Work closely with your bakery team to keep orders moving quickly and accurately.
  • Help create the kind of guest experience that keeps people coming back.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Access to a reliable, insured vehicle that meets company requirements.
  • Current auto insurance that meets state minimum requirements.
  • Smartphone capable of running company delivery applications.
  • Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires the ability to:

  • Drive safely for extended periods throughout a shift.
  • Frequently enter and exit a vehicle.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods while working inside the bakery.
  • Lift, carry, and transport orders weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Reach, bend, twist, kneel, and carry bakery products.
  • Work in varying weather conditions while making deliveries.
  • Work around ovens, refrigeration equipment, and moderate bakery noise levels.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and leadership.

Work Environment

You'll split your time between our bakery and the road.

Inside the bakery, you'll work in a fast-paced environment with ovens, refrigeration equipment, cleaning chemicals, and moderate noise levels. Outside the bakery, you'll drive in varying weather and traffic conditions while following all safety policies and traffic laws.

Schedule Expectations

Our busiest times are evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Delivery Drivers should have availability during these peak business hours. Scheduling needs vary by location.
