RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Front Office Associate, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is per diem, working shifts between M-F 7:30-5.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(55%) Registration

  • Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays
  • Answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Fields calls appropriately for center associates
  • Acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
  • Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office clean up
  • Orders office supplies as needed
  • Maintains supply of patient information sheets
  • Pushes imaging via electronic interfaces
  • Completes confirmation calls and provides preparation instructions to patient
  • Faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested

(20%) Insurance

  • Verifies patient's insurance
  • Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
  • Obtains insurance authorization
  • Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
  • Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

(20%) Scheduling

  • Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
  • Enters and submits patient exam orders
  • Verifies orders match exam schedules
  • Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
  • Schedules walk-in patients
  • Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
  • Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing

Preferred:

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Medical terminology and office background
  • Insurance knowledge
  • Bilingual
