Xylem's Light Industry business provides advanced water treatment solutions that support high-purity, process, and wastewater applications across a broad range of industrial markets. We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support customers throughout the Northeast region and help drive profitable growth through exceptional customer engagement, sales execution, and account management.

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative sells products and services to customers through a variety of channels and serves as a primary point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle, with a focus on customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth. This role maintains relationships with existing accounts while identifying and developing new customers within the assigned territory.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for closing sales opportunities, responding to customer inquiries, developing quotations and proposals, maintaining accurate sales forecasts, and collaborating closely with the outside sales team to achieve revenue targets. The successful candidate will work with a strong sense of urgency to execute sales strategies, provide consultative solutions, and identify opportunities to expand Xylem's presence across the Northeast territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Prospect through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and customer referrals.
  • Qualify leads and convert opportunities into revenue-generating accounts.
  • Contact both prospective and existing customers to secure new and recurring business.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive territory management.

Sales Execution

  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve growth objectives.
  • Create and deliver quotations, proposals, and commercial recommendations.
  • Conduct virtual product presentations and customer consultations.
  • Effectively communicate product value, benefits, pricing, and application solutions.
  • Negotiate and close sales opportunities within established guidelines.

Sales Reporting & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and pipeline data within CRM.

  • Analyze sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare and provide regular sales reports and territory updates.
  • Monitor progress toward sales targets and recommend improvements to sales strategies.

  • Develop and maintain expertise in Xylem's Light Industry water treatment solutions.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 10% travel throughout the assigned Northeast territory.

Location Requirement

Candidates must reside within the assigned territory, which includes Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 plus sales incentives.Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
