Job Summary


Industrial Municipal Supply Co. (IMSCO) is hiring an Inside Sales Representative to support customers, outside sales, and internal operations from our Geismar, Louisiana location. This role handles customer requests for pricing, product availability, order support, equipment rentals, technician services, and project-related material needs.


The Inside Sales Representative is a key customer-facing role at IMSCO. This person helps customers identify the right products and services, prepares accurate quotes, processes orders, follows up on open items, and coordinates with Purchasing, Warehouse, Fabrication, Field Service, Accounting, and Outside Sales to keep work moving.


Primary Responsibilities


- Respond to customer calls, emails, walk-ins, web requests, and outside sales requests in a professional and timely manner.

- Gather customer requirements, including material, equipment, rental, service, specifications, delivery timing, jobsite information, and follow-up needs.

- Prepare accurate quotes and provide customers with pricing, availability, lead times, product information, and related recommendations.

- Convert approved quotes into sales orders and confirm key order details such as payment terms, shipping address, site contacts, shipping method, delivery timing, and required documentation.

- Source non-stock or job-specific material when needed and coordinate with Purchasing and vendors.

- Support equipment rental scheduling, documentation, reservation updates, shipment coordination, returns, and repair follow-up.

- Coordinate with Warehouse, Fabrication, Field Service, Purchasing, Accounting, and Outside Sales to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

- Enter and update customer, quote, order, project, and follow-up information in IMSCO systems.

- Follow up on open quotes and customer requests with urgency and professionalism.

- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members.

- Assist with administrative tasks, team meetings, training, and other sales support responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications


- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Inside sales, customer service, order entry, estimating, industrial distribution, construction supply, municipal supply, HDPE, pipe/fittings, valves, rental equipment, or related experience preferred.

- Strong customer service, phone, email, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Ability to learn technical product information and make practical recommendations to customers.

- Strong attention to detail when preparing quotes, entering orders, and documenting customer information.

- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.

- Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Office, ERP, CRM, and order management system experience is helpful.

- Ability to work well with sales, warehouse, purchasing, fabrication, field service, accounting, customers, and vendors.

- Professional attitude, strong follow-through, and commitment to repeat customer relationships.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment


This role primarily works in an office and customer service environment but may also enter warehouse, shop, outdoor, or plant-type settings. The position may require sitting or standing for extended periods, continuous computer use, phone communication, walking through shop or warehouse areas, and occasional lifting or handling of materials. Proper PPE may be required in shop, warehouse, or customer-site environments.
