Job description

  • Maintains ongoing plan to prioritize portfolio of accounts and maintain relationships throughout the year.
  • Interfaces between customer and UL delivery teams during sales that require additional technical expertise as it relates to highly technical TIC services (e.g. EMC-Wireless).
  • Communicates with customers primarily remotely (video, phone, email) to promote and sell specialty TIC products / services; travel as needed (up to 20%) for proactive outreach to highest-potential customers. 
  • Uses technical credibility to build relationships with buyers and centers of influence and support account owner relationships.
  • Communicates value proposition of assigned specialty TIC products / services to clients based on highly technical knowledge.
  • Under minimal supervision, lead or support sales for assigned specialty TIC product/service line(s) in collaboration and at the direction of account owners.
  • Proactively seeks and actions on opportunities to sell specialty product / services into highest potential accounts in their assigned portfolio.
  • Work under minimal supervision on discovery and opportunity identification for assigned specialty products / services.
  • Works closely with account managers (e.g., Sales Representatives aligned to Commercial accounts, KAMs serving Global accounts in sub-scale geographies) to seamlessly work with customers throughout the sales cycle.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for specialty products / services, responsible for articulating value proposition.
  • Brings in additional technical resources (e.g., engineers) when needed to support sales opportunities of assigned specialty products / services.
  • Works under minimal guidance, makes connections and builds trusted advisor status with relevant account owners.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow a physical and digital security practices.
  • Bachelors and/or graduate degree in engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and CRM software. 
  • Relevant technical capabilities related to assigned specialty product / service.
  • 6+ years of related sales experience.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with specialty product / services within assigned TIC portfolio.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Business acumen and deep understanding of business sales processes.

What we offer:

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated annual compensation for this position is $100,750. - $124,000  which includes a base salary of  $65,000 - $80,000 and 100% on target performance. Members of the sales function are eligible to participate in the UL S5lutions Sales Incentive Plan. The annual target incentive for this position is 55% of the base salary, paid quarterly, and is contingent upon performance. Compensation is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. 

This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
