Job description

Description:

The Lawn Care Technician is responsible for providing professional lawn care services to residential and/or commercial customers. This includes applications of fertilizer, lime, weed, insect, disease, grub, mole & mosquito control, aeration, and aeration & seeding. Completing lawn analysis consisting of measuring the turf areas, identifying lawn problems, pricing and presentation to the customer will be required from time to time. The technician will occasionally be called to the lawn to service in between applications when issues arise. This position is the front-line contact for our customers and communication between the customer and the office is critical. This position reports to the Lead Technician.


The technician must be able to work with minimal supervision and conduct all work in a safe manner per company systems & processes. The technician must learn and become thoroughly familiar with all aspects of lawn care. This includes, but is not limited to: Safe handling, proper mixing, transportation, and proper application of materials. Proper operation and general maintenance of all equipment. Interact with customers while maintaining a professional demeanor. Obtain knowledge of applications and products used, understand and be able to explain their use. Correctly analyze, diagnose, and treat problems arising from disease, insects, improper care, etc. Understand the process for first aid in the event of accident or product spill. Complete assigned daily work, associated paperwork, and administrative requirements related to the position.


The technician must be physically able to perform the following: Frequently stand, walk, crouch, and kneel on narrow, slippery, sloped, or uneven landscape surfaces and/or terrain. Able to bend to pick up or move objects. Walk for long distances on these surfaces. (Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the functions of the position on a case-by-case basis.)

  • Have a clean criminal record?

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (8-10 hours per day)
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions (8-10 hours per day)
  • Work 50+ hours per week and some Saturdays during peak seasons

  • Safely operate company equipment: trucks, backpack sprayers, hose reels, spreaders, motorized equipment, etc.?
  • Demonstrate correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and handling materials in a safe manner?
  • Perform all daily preventative maintenance (PM) on company equipment?
  • Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and/or other company documents?
  • Able to read maps and follow clear directions??
  • Follow safety standards pertaining to job responsibilities?
  • Communicate with supervisor to ensure inventory of materials is adequate?
  • Follow processes always keeping a clean truck
  • Able to fill out and process all necessary job paperwork, invoices, and daily production reports, etc.?
  • Consistently record daily in and out times through the time clock?
  • Complete assigned route?(assigned daily work)
  • Tag equipment for repairs needed and inform direct supervisor?
  • Ensures all accidents/incidents are properly documented and reported immediately
