Job description

The Innovation Analyst is a highly motivated and curious individual ready to work at one of the most innovative large law firms in the US. They will be joining the Practice Innovation Team that is responsible for championing the adoption and development of innovative technologies and processes to help the Firm’s attorneys in all six practice groups better serve their clients and create a competitive edge. Utilizing their technical knowledge and experience, this role will support identification and execution of key projects and initiatives focusing on improving the process of the firm. In this role they will expand their expertise by engaging with AI, automation, and other emerging technologies to accomplish the firm's strategic goals.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Technology Evaluation, Customization and Adoption
    • Develop deep expertise in emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities to identify potential areas for innovation in legal.
    • Support evaluation and scoping or proposed legal technology pilots.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to support the company's innovation goals.
    • Develop, test and deploy complex prompts, prompt chains, workflows, and automation to improve the accuracy, consistency, and usability of generative AI outputs.
    • Conduct prompt testing and quality reviews (e.g., benchmarking outputs and identifying failure modes) and maintain prompt templates and documentation to support scalable adoption.

  • Monitor and evaluate the success of innovation initiatives and provide regular reports to management.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and challenges associated with new innovations and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Training Design, Delivery & Administration
    • Work with the Practice Innovation Team to design, organize and deliver advanced attorney training on tools and custom developments to build off the firm’s standard training.
    • Facilitate custom training at the request of attorneys for specific matters.
  • Collaboration
    • Work on projects across various teams including Enterprise Apps, Software Solutions Development, Legal Tech Consulting and Research Services.
    • Develop and deliver projects for attorneys in Business, Litigation, Tax, Labor & Employment, Intellectual Property and Digital Assets and Data Management Practice Groups.
  • Project Management and Agile Delivery
    • Manage projects using agile methodologies and support the development of requirement specifications in coordination with the firm’s PMO.
    • Ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet legal and business objectives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-10 years of experience; equivalent combination of education, training and experience may substitute for education requirement.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Passion for technology evidenced by experience implementing, building, or managing software. Legal solutions experience preferred. Experience building with PowerApps or no code solutions is a plus.
  • Proven aptitude to learn technical applications at a power-user level and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms.
  • Generative AI experience with enterprise level tools such as Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT.
  • Legal Specific Generative AI workflow tools experience such as Vincent, Legora, and Harvey.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts with an audience.
  • Ability to interact effectively with attorneys and other key personnel; to manage and exceed expectations; and to exhibit a high degree of responsiveness, diplomacy and professionalism in these interactions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in both written and oral formats and respond to questions from all levels of professional and support staff and clients. Ability to effectively present information to top firm management.
  • Ability to write business correspondence, procedure manuals, reports, speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.

The expected annual salary for this position ranges are below. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to region, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills. 

Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Colorado - $85,000-110,000/year

California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Washington D.C., Washington- $95,000-125,000/year
