Essential Duties and Responsibilities


At MSC, exceptional customer service is the core of our identity and the driving force behind our success as a leading commissary provider. Every team member plays a vital role in upholding this standard.

Commissary Team Members are trained across multiple functions within the department. As proficiency, seniority, and operational knowledge grow, team members will be cross trained to support all areas of commissary operations. The role services our Dorchester and Berkeley location.



Requirements:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with unloading and receiving incoming deliveries
  • Distributing inmate commissary orders throughout the Dorchester/Berkeley County Detention Centers
  • Using MSCโ€™s custom software to document order issues, track activity, and run required reports
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintaining full compliance with company policies, safety standards, and fleet operation procedures

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external customers
  • Basic math skills, including calculating totals and managing inventory
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to follow established routines, parameters, and approved operational practices
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing routines and customer needs


Position Details:

  • This position is scheduled every Thursday and Friday, averaging 10โ€“15 hours per week.
  • Pay is $150 per site totaling $300/wk
  • Pay is bi-weekly


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and effectively perform all essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity expectations
  • Consistent and punctual attendance
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
