Job description

Summary - Job Responsibilities - Activities: Maintain the control of processes in injection molding. Set up, process, and change over to produce components in a variety of high engineered plastics. Machines range from 60 to 400 ton. Current machines in dept: Nissei and Sumitomo. Program robots to pick and cut parts. Operators on staff to support with material and qc. A Molding Technician would be able to perform all functions. - Must adhere to all safety and commonsense guidelines including wearing appropriate PPE - Perform mold and/or material changes as dictated by the production schedule. - Material Handler: Loading material for production - Mold Mechanic: Ability to do cavity block and set changes on injection molds - Mold Setter: Install molds into the mold machine - Mold Processor: Performs process troubleshooting during the mold process. (Sets mold and barrel temps, shot size/pressure.) - Training for use of robots for part de-gating and part removal from molds - General Housekeeping - Other duties as assigned Education -
Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent * Previous blow or injection molding experience, minimum 3 years of experience preferred Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs: โ€ข Read prints and processing technical data. โ€ข Reading measurements and proper usage of calipers, micrometers, optical comparators. โ€ข Knowledge of resins, shrinkage rates, mold set up, process and run.
