Job description

Set-Up Technician (Molding)

The Molding Setup Technician is responsible for changing over molding machines and automation according to production schedule. Some familiarity with automation plastic injection processes in Arburg, Krausse Maffei, Yaskawa and Kuka Robots.

Responsibilities

•Ensures that machines are functioning under normal operating condition, makes necessary adjustments, completes repairs in a timely fashion.•When making repairs, ensures that machinery and equipment meets operational specifications and tolerances.•Capable of following troubleshooting standard and communicate effectively and work with engineering team on complex topics.•Self-driven, able to take initiative in determining priority of repairs/projects.•Understanding urgency to troubleshoot machines and bring production back online with limited direction.•Identify and resolve potential equipment malfunctions; following 5S guidelines.•Able to document repairs for traceability according to IMS Gear standards.•Strict adherence to lock out tag out procedures.•Must have working knowledge of Injection Molding Process.•Understanding of basic measuring using micrometers, dial indicators and go/no-go gauges to check quality of produced parts.•Understand how to use Motan Dryer/Vacuum System and change material when necessary.•Use overhead cranes for setting molds into injection molding machines.•Operating walk-behind lifts for transporting molds to and from injection molding machine and finished parts to racks.•Perform operator duties when mold changes are not needed.Skills requirements

•Basic computer skills (MS Office)•Good written and verbal communication skills•Strong logical hands-on problem solving skills•Technical experience in a manufacturing environment•1-3 yrs knowledge of running Injection Molding Machine Equipment preferred•Ability to use calipers, micrometers, gauges and other measurement tools•Familiarly with metric measuring systems•Good attendance and punctuality•Other duties as assigned

Physical requirements

•Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.•Pushing and pulling up to 35 lbs. using material handling equipment•Constant walking, handling and using fingers•Frequent standing and reaching outward•Occasional reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling and bending

You should be proficient in:
